The i7 is also more robust and feels more durable. It is sturdy, has less maintenance requirements, has lower monthly costs, and charges faster, while offering similar battery performance and the most advanced automation features like no-go zones and the capability to choose specific rooms to keep clean.

This robot vacuum and mop combo is a rare beast that does both jobs well. The iRobot Combo J7+ comes with all the smarts of its j7 counterpart including Self-Emptying Robot Vacuum and LiDAR mapping, but with additional features for mopping and vacuuming.

But it can clean them with more effort. It has excellent navigational skills and two cliff sensors that prevent it from falling down stairs or getting caught on furniture legs.

We did notice a few minor niggles with the j7+, mostly that it can get caught on rugs and cords and that it doesn't always shut off its mopping when finished vacuuming. This is a fantastic model that ticks off all the boxes.

iRobot's j7+ also comes with one of the top bagless self-emptying robot vacuum systems we've seen. It dumps its 14oz/0.4-liter dust canister in the base station, and it automatically emptys itself. This reduces the amount of garbage you'll need to dispose of and you'll need to change the reusable dust bag from the dock every 60 days or so, based on how often you use the J7+.
