Roomba because its side brush could more effectively along edges, and was stronger in terms of cleaning small particles.
Samsung Jet Bot can be operated via the SmartThings App and set to clean itself automatically at times that you prefer. It can also be scheduled to clean specific areas or rooms and can also be used to add virtual no-go zones (and physical ones if you want).

iRobot is a name that is synonymous with robot vacuums. The Roomba 960, priced at $700, is somewhere in the middle. It's not as expensive as the flagship 980, but it comes with many of the same features. It comes with cameras to navigate and a mobile app that provides precise cleaning maps. It also comes with a Virtual Wall, which creates an invisible barrier that the Roomba will avoid crossing.
The 960 was a good performer, particularly on floors that were not bare. It sucked up lots of food crumbs, cat litter and tracked in dirt. It also excels at climbing obstacles, such as stair runners and the legs of chairs and tables. It sucked up pet hair as well, though it had to contend with smaller pieces of debris, such as baking soda.
One thing that sets the 960 apart from other Roomba models is that it uses an additional dustbin for large debris which reduces maintenance requirements. The bin can be emptied by pressing a single button through the iRobot Home app, or by using voice commands from Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
You can use the iRobot HOME app to tailor each cleaning cycle and set the number of passes, and choose among different options, such as edge clean or a complete room sweep. It can also send an alert when it's time to empty the dirt compartment.
The 960 is easy to use, with buttons on top and buttons that are accessible in the iRobot Home app as well as via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It's also easy to maintain, with an indicator that shows battery life on the top of the display and a docking system that automatically moves debris out of the dirt compartment into the trash bin when it's time to empty. It uses a centrally located camera to scan the floor while it moves and is able to detect furniture walls, furniture and other obstacles. It can also set boundaries for the robot with the virtual wall tool.
This model is different from previous models as it utilizes lithium-ion batteries instead of nickel metal hydride. This means it can run for longer between charges, and has more endurance for cleaning. It's not as fast as the Shark AI Robot but it can navigate a space effortlessly.
Like the other models of the 960 series, the 970 can be operated via the iRobot app and connects to your Wi-Fi network without installation needed. It has a small handle on its front of the device that you can use to manually return it to its charger and a spot-cleaning feature that lets you focus on a specific area in your home. The 960 robots use the same three-stage process used by the other current iRobot machines, combining the power-lifting and agitation to clean the floor thoroughly and get rid of dirt.
The 960 works well on unfinished floors and picks up a great deal of dust, hair, and other debris, thanks to its brushrolls and powerful suction. However, it has a difficult time with carpet with high pile and will leave some sand behind in its tunnel. It has a large dirt storage compartment which can be notified when it's full via an app or a indicator on the top of the robot. It is also programmed to clean at a scheduled time, and we had no trouble setting this up during our tests.
