14 Cartoons On Double Buggy From Birth That Will Brighten Your Day
Buying a Double seat stroller Buggy From Birth
There are plenty of things to consider when selecting the perfect double buggy from the moment of birth. We spoke with Fourth Trimester postnatal retreat expert Katie Billingsley for her advice on everything from seating options and age ranges to folding mechanisms and storage space.
A must-have for families with active children This buggy can grow with your family from twins to toddlers. It's light and easy to maneuver and can handle uneven terrain easily.
What kind of buggy do you want?
A double buggy is great for transporting two children, but not necessarily of the same age, side by side. They can be used as prams, and they have recline mechanisms within each seat, allowing your children can sit or lie down in various positions. Many have ample storage for everything from snacks and drinks to wipes and nappies. They're typically lightweight, fold easily and compact enough to fit in the car boot. If you drive a great amount, you should ensure that the buggy can be easily maneuvered with the wheels folded in your car boot, and then removed.
You may have seen this kind of double buggy on other mums' twin strollers for newborns or even ridden in one as a kid. They are ideal for older siblings that want to keep up with you or for twins. They typically come with numerous seating configurations (including "cinema" seats) for your children to choose from. They're usually easy to steer and, if you go for a model with a soft suspension, they can be a breeze to get rid of the kerbs.
Tandem buggies, which are simpler to turn than side-by sides, are also popular. The second seat is positioned behind the first, rather than on top. The seats are usually bigger and bulkier than a side by side, so you should check whether they can fit through doors or on public transport. They can be used to transport twins or a toddler and baby or three children with the addition of a buggy.
Lastly there are the'single-to-double' convertibles which can be used as a single pushchair from birth then convert to a double by attaching a second seat, carrycot or car seat to their clever frame. They are generally more expensive than side-by-sides and tandem buggies but provide plenty of versatility and a good return on investment. They are easy to steer and have a large storage basket. They can also handle uneven surfaces. Some have a built in ride-on boards for older children and 'cinema seats'.
Do you have twins?
Whether your children are twins or siblings of different age groups, a double buggy is the best lightweight double stroller option to transport them around. There are two types of double buggies: tandem buggies where one child sits above the other, and side-byside buggies. Both will accommodate 2 fixed seats, but side-byside buggies tend to be smaller in width for getting through doors. Tandems are generally wider overall. They can also accommodate both seats for toddlers and a carrycot.
Do you have one?
At first having a younger sibling could seem like a lot of responsibility, particularly if you're also caring for the infant. They may be a bit irritated if they are placed in a baby carrier as you push the older one along, so having a double buggy side by side buggy right from the beginning can make things easier. It will also give your child the feeling of pride that comes with knowing that they get to be 'big brother or sister' and help them settle into their role.
The side-by-side double buggies could be a great choice for twins, as both children will have the same view. However, they are bulky and heavy. We like the sleek B-AGILE double running stroller by Leclerc with its innovative frame that can be expanded widthways to take two seats fixed. It also offers various configuration options, including using the second seat as a bassinet or infant carrier.
If you prefer, we suggest alternatively, we recommend the Mountain Buggy Double Trailblazer for families that love to explore. This innovative buggy starts off as a single pushchair but it can then be converted into a double, which can include an additional seat or carrycot, or car seat (depending on the model). Its smooth ride is perfect for rough terrain, and it has numerous thoughtful features that will keep everyone content.
Do you require a travel system for your business?
Double buggies can be a great way to transport your children in comfort. However they aren't necessary for every family. You could use one stroller, and some attachments such as baby carriers and toddler straps that allow you and your child to be able to travel on their backs, or in the front.
There are three kinds of double buggies: tandem double stroller, side-by-side and convertible. Side-by-side buggies have the two seats positioned near each other, which means your children will be able to see each one another. They are larger than a single stroller and may be difficult to navigate around the kerbs. Tandem buggies are compact that has one seat in the front and another at the back. However they can be quite heavy and lengthy to push.
Convertible double buggies are wonderful because they let you convert your stroller into double buggy by attaching an infant car seat or bassinet to the frame. This will allow you to keep your baby in their car seat until they're ready to transition into the main buggy seat. The UPPAbaby Vista V2 is a great example of this. It's suitable for twins or a toddler or even three children with the addition of the optional PiggyBack board.
Once your children are older and have more endurance, a double-buggy can be used to accompany them on bicycle rides or day trips where they'd prefer to walk. But, it's important to remember that they may not want to be in a buggy and could easily get tired and angry when they are on longer excursions.
Before you decide to purchase a double stroller, take into consideration the factors above and your family's unique circumstances. Having a solid and reliable double stroller will make life much easier, especially if you need to navigate through busy streets or bustling shopping centres.
