To prevent this, he began eating stress-inducing food for his newborns. He also swallowed his daughters Hestia Demeter Hera and Persephone. The children who were reabsorbed, after they were freed were able to fight with their brothers Zeus (and Poseidon) in the epic intergenerational battle known as the Titanomachy.
