It s Time To Expand Your Pushchair Options
Choosing a Double pushchair twin (learn here)
You'll need a double stroller to transport your twins from A to B. Our range comprises of twin prams and double buggies that come in a variety of configurations to suit your family requirements.
Find a folding pushchair that folds in a single step and is easy to put into your car. You might also want a lightweight design, especially when you're on busy high streets.
Side-by-Side
This is the most popular double pushchair. It is usually able to accommodate two children side-by-side. They tend to be bigger than single pushchairs. This makes them less able to maneuver on footpaths. It is also difficult to navigate through kerbs with the car seat is in place. However the extra width can mean that they're often a lot easier to navigate through doors and are more evenly distributed making them more comfortable on your back.
Many models are able to be used as twin prams pushchairs and will take a carrycot, or two car seats. Some models can be converted into a single mode with a basket to the side (like the Cybex Venus).
One of the most excellent examples of this is the Bugaboo Donkey 5 which, in Twin Mode, allows you to put the rear seat and a carrycot side-by-side. This creates a totally enclosed space for twins and is perfect for infants. This pram also comes with a couple of really neat accessories, such as the newborn cocoons that can be put on face either direction (for a twin-facing pram) or facing forwards (for a standard single). It's not as light as other options but it is extremely well-thought out.
Lightweight
Cybex is a brand known for its innovation, and this single-to-double pushchair is no different. The frame can be extended to accommodate a second seat. You can use the pushchair as twins from birth by adding two cocoons for newborns that cost PS59 each. These cocoons are enclosed and create lie-flat spaces. The large shopping basket behind the seat allows it to be used in mono mode with just one child. It comes with both front and rear suspensions which means it can take on bumps and uneven surfaces more easily. It is a top pick among our reviewers.
Available in a variety of fashionable colors.
Tandem
If you are planning to have twins you will require a tandem pushchair. This allows both children to sit together and interact with each other. They are ideal for trips to the zoo, as children can observe the animals together. They are also great for parents who need to keep one eye on their toddler and the other eye on their infant, as they can see both simultaneously.
Some tandem pushchairs provide ultra flexibility as they can convert back to single mode. This is especially handy when you're planning to have more than two kids (or just your eldest does not require a buggy anymore). This will prevent you from having to store a buggy that's empty which can be costly.
For example the Cybex Venus can be used in double or mono mode, and features a clever frame that can be expanded to allow for an additional seat. It's not the tiniest pushchair, but it has an ample basket that can be placed behind the front seat in double mode, or at the back if in mono mode. The seats can be set to face each other or one can be set higher, so that it can see over the other and observe what they're doing.
Other double tandem pushchairs, such as the Joolz Geo 3 can seat one on top of the other or side-byside. The slim, sleek frame makes it easy to navigate through doorways and aisles in supermarkets. Some models can be used on rough terrain or for an exercise walk due to their wide rear wheels and four-wheel suspension.
A tandem pushchair can be used to carry two carrycots or a car and buggy seat. This means you can create a travel system right from the beginning and save money on separate purchases. It's worth remembering that tandems are heavier and longer than single pushchairs, and may feel less stable when as you go over uneven surfaces. They also require dismantling to fit into cars.
