What s The Job Market For Bagless Wifi-Connected Robot Professionals
Bagless WiFi-Connected Robot Vacuum
This bagless autonomous vacuums wifi-connected robot has a utilitarian, all-black design. Its cost is comparable to premium smart robotic vacuums.
You can control the device using the physical Clean and Dock buttons on top and the SharkClean App or voice commands via Alexa or Google Assistant. It comes with a variety of smart features including home mapping and virtual "no-go zones".
Matrix Clean
The #1 vacuum cleaner in America (based on NPD Group/Retail Tracking Services data). Matrix Clean has incredible suction power as well as Matrix & Precision Mapping. It also comes with a self-emptying bottom.
It's easy to connect the Matrix to your wifi and start mapping out your rooms with the SharkClean app that you can download on your smartphone. The app lets you set up a schedule to keep your home spotless or you can select specific rooms to have Matrix begin cleaning the room automatically. You can also set 'no-go zones, such as beds or closets that you don't want it to get into.
The app also lets you use the "spot" cleaning on demand feature. You can choose a dirty area on your floor map, and the robot will make its way over that area by repeatedly swiping its cleaning pad. It does an excellent job picking up everything from dog hair tangles to tiny bits of paper cut up from a recent crafting project.
The Matrix will return to its dock after it is finished cleaning, and empty itself into the bin provided. This is an interesting feature because it reduces the amount of hand-on maintenance you need to do.
One thing to be aware of about this particular model is that the LIDAR mapping sensor is located directly on top which could prevent it from easily getting underneath some low-to-the-ground furniture like sofas and tables. This is a great choice for those who don't mind that it is slightly higher than other models. Be aware that this one isn't equipped with an HEPA air filter, like others on this list.
Precision Home Mapping
Shark's Matrix Clean Navigation is a precision grid that ensures no spot is missed. Incredible suction pulls dirt, dust and other debris into a bag-free base with 60-day capacity. Precision home mapping combines 360deg of LiDAR vision with an exact home map that is available in the SharkClean app to enable completely autonomous movement and intelligent object avoidance. It creates a detailed map of your living space, whether day or night and allows for full movement without causing any damage to furniture or obstructions. You can choose to leave your robot to clean up according to a set schedule, or you can use the Matrix Clean on Demand app and set specific targets for each room.
"The team at Precision are amazing, they know that building a house can be stressful. they can keep you calm during a time where you're worried about permits, the weather, timing, etc." Josh C. Josh C.
Powerful Suction
The RV2502AE is a solid mid-range robot vacuum that ticks all the boxes. It's easy to use and creates precise home maps, and has bags that self-empty. It's also cheaper to run than other robot vacuums.
It also has plenty of power, sweeping up debris using its suction opening, and relying on its side brushes to push carpet and hair threads into the path of the brushroll. This helps prevent the accumulation and blockage of the brushroll that is seen on other robotic vacuums, and makes this model more effective at picking up pet hair.
In addition to its suction-boosting and self-emptying base, this robot vacuum bagless comes with Matrix Clean Navigation for a comprehensive cleaning, Precision Home Mapping for objects to avoid, a high-efficiency HEPA filter that catches 99% of odors, allergens, and dust mites and has two power modes for various floor types and a remote control that gives the user full access to all its functions. Moreover, it's compatible with voice assistants such as Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant which allows you to initiate cleaning tasks without having to touch the robot.
While it's a great option for the majority of homes, some may be unable to navigate it. This bump bot was having issues with stairs. Other bump bots are able to avoid them however this one didn't. It utilized LiDAR sensors as well as infrared to map my house, but kept mistaking the cat condo as a staircase and asked me if I wanted to move it. Additionally, it only ran for 180 minutes before running out of power, which was shorter than advertised.
Self-Empty Base
Certain robots, like this one that self-empty bases. These bases are able to remove debris from the onboard dustbin to an external dirt compartment. This makes maintenance simpler. They are referred to as the Clean Base Dirt Disposal by iRobot, Auto Empty Station by Ecovacs or bagless electric robots Self Emptying Base by Shark. They are a practical option however they can be noisy and messy. They usually require special disposal bags.
This Shark model is bundled with an HEPA-filtered bagless cutting-edge vacuums base that boasts a huge capacity. It can hold up to 60 days of waste and doesn't require emptying on a regular basis unlike some of the other models. It also has a large amount of incredible Shark suction to tackle even the most difficult messes. The only issue is that the docking station's vacuum system to clean the onboard dust bin is surprisingly loud.
When the robot is connected and charging it, it will emit an alarm and a green light at its top will blink to signal that it's ready to start cleaning. When the battery of the robot is depleted it will dock to its base until it's recharged. It is crucial that the dock, or Self-Empty Base, is positioned so it doesn't get hindered by furniture or other objects and is free of obstructions.
While this model is slightly more expensive than the other mid-range bagless robotic sweepers mop models we've tested, it feels sturdy and has superior performance on floors that are not bare and has a longer battery life, less maintenance requirements, and a greater variety of automation features that include virtual boundary markers. The iRobot Roomba i7, however is still our preferred choice because it feels more durable and more sophisticated, charges faster and is able to be tangled with rug tassels less often and has a higher capacity battery.
Easy Setup
The Shark AI Ultra comes with a simple-to-use Schedule that takes only two inputs. You can select the date and time of sunrise and sunset, the duration of the ramp times (increasing or decreasing the brightness) and if you wish to switch on the lights when it gets dark.
It doesn't offer the smart mapping feature or voice control like Alexa or Google Assistant, but it does feature a very useful free programming suite. It includes Windows-based applications that permit operating parameter and communication settings as well as dmXLAN switch and node configuration, real-time tests and fast replication of the configuration to multiple installations.
The interface is easy to understand for even the novice user. The top tabs correspond to the screens that will be displayed by the installer. There are also tabs for playing around with various colors and messages. It's a powerful tool that allows you to create a program installer quickly. The program is just 1.3MB in size and is compatible with Windows 7 to Windows 95.
